When Kim Reynolds raises her right hand Friday to begin a four-year term, she will rest her other hand on the same Bible she used on May 24th of 2017. That’s when Reynolds took over as governor in the middle of a four-year term.

She’s now the first woman to be elected by Iowans to be governor. Her inaugural address will start between 10:15 and 10:30.

In addition to this  morning’s “swearing in” ceremony, there’s an open house at the governor’s mansion starting at noon. An open house at the state capitol starts at 2 p.m.

The “iffy” weather forecast may cause problems tonight for people from the southern Iowa community of Osceola, where Reynolds grew up,  who bought tickets for one of the two inaugural balls.
