An 8-year old Franklin Elementary student has died after he was hit by a vehicle near Main Street and 13th Street after school yesterday.
Marshalltown Police say Christian Maxon was crossing Main Street when he was struck by a vehicle driven by 71-year old Marilyn Diggins of Marshalltown. The boy was taken to Unity Point Health-Marshalltown and later to Iowa Methodist where he died of his injuries.
The Marshalltown Community School District says additional counselors are already on site at Franklin Elementary to assist those in need.
