Tuesday night, the Marshalltown High girls soccer team not only squared off against Ames on the soccer field, but the Ames Tribune reports that the Bobcats had to deal with racially insensitive comments from Ames students in the stands.

Members of the Bobcat team reported the comments to coach Leigh Hornbuckle, who told the ref, who relayed the issue to an Ames school administrator.  Ames Athletic Director Judge Johnson then went to talk to the students.

Ames school officials said yesterday that the “..racial remarks toward Marshalltown athletes…are unacceptable…”
