It’s wide open weekend at the Iowa Speedway this week as the summer season begins at the Newton facility. There will be not one, but two big races. On Saturday it’ll be the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series M&M’s 200 presented by Casey’s General Store. Sunday it will be the Iowa 250 NASCAR Xfinity Series race.

Track president David Hyatt says prep for the big opening weekend have been ahead of schedule. The off-season weather doesn’t seem to have impacted the  7/8 of a mile track.

And if the racing isn’t enough, the Saturday race will be followed by a concert from the rock group Kansas. You may still purchase tickets for all the events via www.IowaSpeedway.com.
