The City of Marshalltown is asking for your input in regards to a potential “Quiet Zone” for the community. A Quiet Zone, as anticipated via the Downtown Master Plan, would not allow trains traveling through Marshalltown to utilize their horns. The cost to implement such a zone could also cost around one million dollars.
The City has posted a survey to obtain feedback prior to an August 28th Public Meeting on the Quiet Zone.
You may go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/XTRCS5P for the survey. It will be open through August 28th.
