The Marshalltown Community College volleyball team opened the season with a five-set win on the road against Pensacola State on Thursday night.

The Tigers won 27-25, 19-25, 25-18, 15-25, 15-12 in their debut.

The Tigers will travel to Snead State Community College in Boaz, Ala., and play in a three-team tournament starting today.

The University of Northern Iowa women’s soccer beat Chicago State in a 5-0 shutout game at home.
