Central Nebraska farmer Alvin Kowalski says their irrigated crops are doing “exceptionally well”. But it has required a little more effort this summer, compared to last year.
“Last year we got a little spoiled with all the rain and didn’t irrigate hardly anything,” Kowalski says. “So this year it was a little tougher to get out there and get things running in a timely manner.”
Kowalski, who farms with family just east of Grand Island, expects above-average yields from their irrigated crops but says non-irrigated crops may be below-average in yield.
