The USDA says domestic rough rice stocks in all positions on August 1st were down 37% on the year at 24.395 million hundredweight. That follows a decline in production from 2018 to 2019. Most of that were long grain varieties at 61%, followed by medium grain at 37%, and short grain at 2%. Off farm stocks were 21.567 million hundredweight and on farm stocks were 2.828 million hundredweight.
Milled rice stocks were 2.987 million hundredweight, all off farm, a decline of 32%, with most of that whole kernel rice.
