Producers who suffered crop losses from natural disasters in 2018 and 2019 can apply for up to $250,000 of relief through the USDA Farm Service Agency’s Quality Loss Adjustment Program beginning January 6th.

Assistance is available for producers in counties that received a presidential emergency disaster declaration or a secretarial disaster designation because of a qualifying disaster such as flood, drought, tornado or wildfire. FSA Administrator Richard Fordyce says producers from other counties can still apply,

“But also must provide supporting documentation to establish that the crop was directly affected by a qualifying disaster event.”

He says eligible crops are those for which federal crop insurance or noninsured crop disaster assistance program coverage is available.
