The number on the state website for COVID-19 outbreaks in long-term care facilities remains at zero for the second day in a row. Lori Ristau is with the Iowa Health Care Association says nearly all of the state’s 430 nursing homes have experienced an outbreak at some point.

Long-term residents and staff were among the first to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Ristau says all facilities are expected to be fully vaccinated by the end of this month.

As far as new positive cases, nearly 600 added to the state’s website since yesterday midday. 15 of those in Story County, 7 in Marshall County and 6 in Jasper COunty.

The to-date total for positive cases now nearing 373-thousand.
