A strong finish for 2020 farmland values set the foundation for an upward trend this year.

Luke Worrell with Worrell Land Services in Jacksonville, Illinois served as chair for this year’s Illinois Land Values Conference. He tells Brownfield data in their state shows the average price for excellent quality land was up $435 in 2020 to $10,750 an acre while average land was down about $90 at $6409.  

Worrell says along with those stable prices, there are several factors currently favoring land values across the Midwest.
