Michigan’s House of Representatives has passed legislation which declared March 23 Ag Day in the state to coincide with national efforts recognizing the industry.
House Ag Committee chair Julie Alexander introduced the resolution Thursday following her committee meeting.
“We have a lot to celebrate, our state is a number one producer in many different aspects in the nation,” she says.
During committee, Ernie Birchmeier with Michigan Farm Bureau highlighted successes of the past year, saying throughout the pandemic farmers continued to produce and keep consumers fed.
