The Missouri House is planning to work on a Senate bill this last week of the legislative session that would raise the gas tax by 12-and-a-half cents over five years.
Jeff Glenn with Missourians For Transportation Investment says it will help ALL Missouri drivers including farmers, “You see things like weight posted bridges which means farmers aren’t able to drive their loaded trucks across some bridges. That means detours and that means extra time and extra money that they have to spend to be able to get their product to market.”
The legislation includes a rebate option for most drivers who do not want to pay for the amount of the tax increase.
