Jeanette C. Roe, 83, of Clemons, IA passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at the Hubbard Care Center in Hubbard, IA. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Banger Liberty Friends Church in Bangor, IA. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown, IA. Interment will be at Clemons Cemetery in Clemons, IA. Jeanette was born in North Hollywood, California on January 9, 1938 to Raymond and Marian (Worthing) Yunker. All of her formative years were spent growing up in North Hollywood, California. This is where she me the love of her life and future husband Robert Alan Roe. They were united in marriage on March 8, 1958 and remained married for 61 years until the passing of Robert in 2020.

Jeannette's true calling was being a wife, mother, and homemaker. She took great pride in her home, but her greatest joy came from raising her four children Alan, Melody, Kathy, and Janet. Her Godly spirit always gave them direction and her love was unconditional. 

Jeannette enjoyed traveling and spending time tending to her plants and her garden. She had a true passion for animals. She managed to always find room for them to give all the cats a forever home. It was always said she loves her animals more than anything. She enjoyed trying out new recipes on he family and neighbors. In her younger years she took on the challenge of shuffleboard, square dancing, roller skating and tennis. 

Jeannette worked at Woolworths in Los Angeles CA, The Coralville Elementary School Cafeteria, The Coralville health food store where she was the assistant manager and went on to work at the VA hospital Canteen in Iowa City and lastly K-Mart store in Coralville, Iowa before retiring. She also volunteered at Sunshine acres in Mesa, AZ and the House of Compassion of Marshalltown, IA. She was an active member at the Bangor Church for many years, she was a member of the Red Hats Society, Motorcycle retread, Book club, and was involved with Girl Scouts.

Jeannette was loved and will be missed by her family and friends. Jeannette is survived by her 3 children, 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; Jeannette nieces; Doreen, Lisa and 2 nephews; Scott and Miles. Robert's sister, brother-in-law, Breverly (Otto) Young; and great friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Roe, daughter, Kathy Sue (Roe) Whitear and a sister, Marilyn Yunker
