The Marshalltown Fire Department  is continuing its investigation into a weekend blaze which destroyed a vacant two-story building in the downtown area.

Shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday, local fire crews were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 110 West Main Street.

Due to the stability of the building after the fire, the structure was deemed a hazard and was torn down.

According to a fire department press release issued this morning, the cause of the fire has been ruled suspicious and the investigation is continuing.

All tips are completely anonymous and there is a reward of $500 if the tip results in an arrest.
