Many people know about the Army Reserves or National Guard and individuals who are ready to jump to action when called upon.  Did you know that the Marshalltown Police Force has a Reserve unit as well?  That unit grew by 1 on Monday, when Police Chief Mike Tupper congratulated Dan Faas for completing his training and the City Council approved him.

Reserve Policing has not always been a thing in Iowa.  Marshalltown Native Dan Brandt led the charge to get this program started.  The reserve unit started in 1971, 53 years ago.

Chief Tupper than gifted Dan Brandt a blanket with the Marshalltown Police Badge on it to thank him for all he’s done for Reserve Policing and the Marshalltown Police Department.
