There is a slam poetry event coming up in May where the Marshalltown Public Library partnered with the Arts and Culture Alliance. The event will be at Wayward Social on May 9th. Marshalltown Library Director, Sarah Rosenblum, mentions that the headliner is Matt Mason, the Nebraska State Poet.
The event will take place out on Gutter Point beginning at 6pm. Matt Mason will be bringing all of his books for people to purchase. Rosenblum then tells people what to expect with slam poetry.
Rosenblum is a big fan of Emily Dickenson, but says this event will be more upbeat and energetic. No tickets needed ahead of time, just head to Gutter Point on May 9th.
