Bob Ranson, Marshalltown Water Pollution Control Plant Superintendent, does not want a bunch of chemicals washed down your drains and into the underground water pipes. People have a chance to drop off their hazardous waste once a year for free and that is coming up in May.
Ranson suggests for people to look through their basement, garage, or storage area for any items that they will take.
He then lists a few things that they will not take
If there are items that they cannot take at the Free Hazardous Waste Drop Off Day on May 16th, Ranson suggest the Marshall County Landfill. Their website has a list of items they will take and any fees that would be associated.
