One person was killed and three others injured in an accident on Highway 14 south of Marshalltown yesterday afternoon.

Mathew Perkins of Marshalltown was a passenger in a car driven by Wilma Perkins. Their car was stopped waiting to make a turn on the road when a vehicle driven by Sheryl Stalzer of Haverhill rear-ended the other.

Perkins was not wearing a seat belt at the time.

Wilma Perkins was life-flighted to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Stalzer and a passenger in her vehicle, Lane Stalzer were both taken to Unity Point-Marshalltown.
