Budgets, budgets, budgets, that’s the talk with county and city government right now as well as the school districts.  Jaret Heil, Marshall County Supervisor Chairman, was on Open Forum yesterday morning discussing the County budget.  He first talks about the rollback as assessed values went up this past year.

Heil mentions that the total consolidated levy for the county will reduce by 3.7%.  Even though the levy is going down with valuations rising, the county will collect just a bit more money this year, about 1.9% growth.

Heil mentions that property owners should not see much of an increase at all from the County levy.  It is the new growth in the county that can account for the 1.9% growth in the budget.
