A Marshalltown Man is convicted of murder this week. Back on March 17th, 2023 law enforcement responded to 618 W Boone Street for a call reporting someone had been injured and was not breathing. Once officers arrived at the scene, they found 1 deceased male body. That was identified as 28-year-old Isaiah Montell Forest of Marshalltown. After the autopsy was performed by the Iowa Office of the State Medical examiner, they determined the victim died of a gunshot wound. Law enforcement then follow the trail that led them to Amarrion Demeir Isom, age 20, and he was arrested on March 19th, 2023. A trial began for Isom on February 13th, and a jury found Isom guilty of 1st-degree murder on February 19th. Marshalltown Police Chief Mike Tupper says in the statement, “I am also thankful for the hard work of the law enforcement officers, detectives, prosecutors, and crime scene investigators involved in this case. These dedicated professionals work tirelessly to ensure violent criminals are brought to justice.”
